submitting a roster for Trophy Team Competition must understand the
following:
1. The decision will be binding for the entire season.
2. A separate roster must be
submitted for each division.
3. Riders cannot transfer between
rosters during a season.
4. A rider leaving a team for
another
team may not be used on a team entry for the duration of the season.
B. There will be open
registration at the end of each season. Team managers
can recruit any rider who has not already committed to a team. New
commitment
forms must be submitted for each new season. When choosing a team,
the rider,
their parent and the manager must sign the commitment form, which is
binding
for the entire season. Commitment forms may not be signed by anyone
prior
to June 1st for 5-Star and December 1st for State season.
Any team caught forging any signature will be suspended from team
competition
for the duration of the season and forfeit any and all awards they may
have
earned.
C.
Team commitment forms must be received by the Trophy Team
Chairman
before the first gate drops on the first moto of a Qualifier. They will
then
be added to the roster and are eligible for that race. A rider is not
officially
on a team roster until the signed commitment form has been received by
the
Trophy Team Chairman.
ALL ROSTERS WILL BE FROZEN
SEVEN (7) DAYS BEFORE
THE LAST QUALIFIER OF EACH SEASON.
D. Trophy Teams may use
riders in the following classes: Expert, Novice,
Rookie, Girl, and Cruiser. Pros, Super, and Open Class riders are not
eligible.
1. A rider who races two classes
may not be used on the same
team entry, but the second class may be used on a second or third team
entry.
E.
If the NBL should designate a Qualifier to also be a
Regional or National race and a rider who is also on a
National or Regional team competes for that team at
that race he will
become ineligible for further Trophy Team competition.
See Rule A.
F.
Teams may enter a maximum of three (3) entries per Qualifier,
with
only the lowest score to count in the "A" division. One or two team
entries
shall cost $10.00 per Qualifier. A third entry will cost $5.00
per qualifier. To encourage teams to put in second and third entries we
will have overall standings form "B" and "C" divisions. The top
three teams in these tow divisions will receive Gift Cards. 1st
Place - $50, 2nd Place - $40, 3rd Place - $30.
G.
A team entry is made up of at least five (5) but not more than
seven (7) riders. If cruisers are used,
no more than three (3) per entry are allowed. Finishes of the three (3)
motos
will be used for scoring. Best five (5) riders will determine the team
score.
The two highest scores of the seven riders will be disregarded.
If scores
on a team entry are tied the manager must designate which riders are
the alternates.
H.
The winner of the day will be the team with the lowest score for five
(5) riders. The alternates scores will be used if one of the primary
five is disqualified. Cumulative scores will
be listed after each Qualifier. Tiebreakers are listed in section I.
I. Tiebreakers:
1. If the score is tied the lowest
alternate score will determine the winner.
2. If still tied the lowest second
alternates score will determine the winner.
3. If still tied go to first
alternates third moto, then second, then first.
4. If still tied go to second
alternates third moto, then second, then first.
5. If still tied go to lowest
place finishes of the five (5) primary riders, i.e. most firsts,
seconds, thirds etc.
6. If still tied go to the highest
number of proficiencies of the five (5)
primary riders, i.e. most experts, novices, girls, cruisers, rookies.
7. If still tied follow rule #6
using both alternates.
J.
Team entries must be turned in to the chairman before the first
gate
of the first moto drops. Exception: If there is a delay in posting all
the
motos additional time may be given. The scored entry must be turned
into
the chairman within fifteen (15) minutes after the last moto is
completed
and finishes have been posted on the moto sheets. If a team has paid
for
an entry but fails to turn in the scored sheet, the team shall receive
"0" points for that qualifier.
K. Riders on a team entry must wear team jerseys
that are similar in design with the team name clearly marked. A jersey
protest must be in writing and given to the Trophy Team Chairman before
the
end of the race. If upheld the rider will be disqualified and the
alternates
score will be used.
L.
If a rider misses a moto, the rider will receive last place
points based
on the number of riders in the moto. If a rider's position is changed
as
a result of a protest the new position will be used for points. All
finishes
will be certified by the chairman with the official race results from
the
State Clerk of Course. Managers who disagree with the final results may
ask
the chairman for clarification and recertification with the clerk.
M.
If a rider, on a team entry, is not legally qualified to race on
that team, i.e. no commitment form or is committed to another team, the
rider
will be disqualified and the alternate score will be used.
N.
If a team uses unsportsmanlike conduct, a protest may be made to
the Trophy Team chairman to decide if that team should be disqualified.
All
team protests must be written and handed to the chairman within 10
minutes
after the reason for the protest becomes apparent. The chairman may
request
a team managers meeting to vote on the protest.
O.
If a Qualifier is rained out before the race starts, the Qualifier
will not count toward a teams cumulative point total. Any team entry
fees
that were paid will be credited to the next Qualifier. If; however, at
least
two motos are run before the race is called the Qualifier will count as
a
legal race for the purpose of team competition.
P.
With the two moto system the third moto score shall be the
better of the
first two. Remember, the second moto score should be placed in the
third
moto column on the team entry, as it is used for tie breakers. If all
motos
of the third round are run and then the race is called, all three motos
shall
be scored accordingly. If the third round is not completed, scoring
will
revert back to the two moto system.
Q. Three teams shall be
allowed to ride in the parade lap at each Qualifier. This will be
determined by what teams 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the previous Qualifier or
Championship race. Only eight (8) riders from each of these
teams will be permitted to ride the parade lap. Dignity and respect for
the
Flag and our National Anthem must be displayed during the parade lap.
Managers
will be held responsible for their rider's actionsand fined $10 for a
violation of this rule.
R.
Only the team manager, or in his absence a designated assistant,
may vote, question rules, register a protest, or otherwise represent
the
team. The manager is also responsible for the actions and behavior of
the
riders and parents associated with the team.
S.
There will be a Team Managers meeting at 9:00 AM on Saturday of
each
Qualifier weekend. Rule changes, grievances, drawings and other items
for
the good of the order shall be discussed at this time. Emergency
meetings
shall be called at the discretion of the chairman or if a majority of
the
team managers personally request a meeting.
