2008 Summer Series Schedule


2008 SUNSHINE STATE SUMMER SERIES

 
The season will start August 1, 2008 and run through October 31, 2008.  The Summer Series championship race will be double points on November 8, 2008 in conjunction with the first State Qualifier for 2009.  This is a high points series.  All local races count as Single point races.  All district races count as Double Point races.  The races in Daytona and Naples will be Triple Points.  All licensed NBL members are eligible to participate in the season.  This is a fun season and a great time to get practice for the President's Cup.
 

SUMMER SERIES AWARDS


To be qualified to earn an award you must race at least 8 races from August 1st to October 31st, 2008.  You must be in the top three positions in your age and class.  This is a high points series.  Therefore you can get the most points by attending the two Triple Point Qualifier weekends and a Double Points District race. The Triple Point Qualifier races will be in Daytona on September 13th and 14th and in Naples on October 10th and 11th. These will be a Saturday night and Sunday morning events where you will be racing two races in less than 24 hours.  The three Double Point District races will be a double race held on August 16th with a rain date on August 17th at Miami South, USA BMX (Riverview) and Middleburg.  You are encouraged to race the track that is closest to you.  The awards will be 8 deep at the triple point races but trophy schedule will used at Double Point races.

To be eligible for an award you must race the Double Points Championship Race to be held November 8th, 2008.  You must race at least 8 races and be in the top three in your age and class.  All qualified first place winners in Expert, Novice, Rookie, Cruisers, Woman Cruisers and Girls will receive a jacket. All qualified 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a sweatshirt.
 

HI-POINTS AWARDS


The first place Rookie, Novice, Expert, Girl and Cruiser (Boy and Girl Class combined) rider overall in the points series will receive $200.00 towards your trip to the 2008 President's Cup Race. The rider must participate in the President's Cup race and the money will be awarded after the first moto has been run.  Only one award per rider.  In the event of a rider winning both class and cruiser, the award will go to the runner-up in Class.

2008-2009 AMATEUR CLASS SERIES

Starts August 1, 2008 – May 16, 2009
The Amateur’s rookies, novice, expert, girls and cruiser riders can earn a special award by racing a total of 45 races during the 2008 Summer Series and the 2009 State Season.  All riders who complete this task will be eligible for a drawing to be held at the 2009 State Championship.  The Grand Prize will be an enclosed lettered trailer with additional prizes through 4th place.
 

2008-2009 PRO / SUPER-EX SERIES

QUALIFICATIONS:  A rider must race a total of seven 2008 Summer Series Races or 2009 State Qualifiers, plus the State Championship for the 2009 State Series.
AWARDS: Overall winner will receive money based on attendance.
